Research and analysis is the close work — grounded in evidence, fixed on how India is actually governed, concerned with what reaches the last home. Perspectives is where I step back from the ground and take in the horizon.
These are essays on the larger ideas that sit beneath the analysis: the theories that explain how systems fail and how they endure, the patterns history keeps repeating for those willing to look, the concepts worth understanding for anyone who thinks seriously about public life. Less about a single policy than about the ways of seeing that make every policy intelligible.
Some of the most practical things I know began as abstract ones. A framework borrowed from one field has a way of illuminating another; an old idea, properly understood, explains a new problem better than any amount of fresh commentary.
This is the room where I follow those threads — slowly, and for their own sake.
